Pregnancy Reflections

Second Month

The hardest thing for me to give up is:
Carbs! Anything with too much carbs...ahhhh I love carbs!

This month I told:
I think everyone already knows. I'm pretty sure.

They reacted by:
Does not apply.

This month at my prenatal visit I learned that:
Baby bean has a strong heartbeat. 179 bpm!

New pregnancy symptoms I had this month:
Nothing really new. Constant nausea and tummy aches.

My hopes:
Baby girl!

My fears:
Oh the fears have set in! Too many to list and my list might have you sending me to the nut house lol. It's normal right? Stupid hormones.

Catching Up

Lately I feel like I’m living in a constant fog. I can’t seem to shake the first trimester funk. I will have one good day and then spend the next 3 or 4 days paying for it. It’s a constant exhaustion that I’ve never felt before. Bless my husband and son; they are barely hanging in there by a thread. I’ve always been quite the multi tasker and lately I can’t seem to get anything done. I’m hoping it passes soon. If not, I’m in for a long ride for the next 9 months.

In better news: we had our first appointment on Wednesday and we got to see our little bean floating away. When I saw the heartbeat I nearly lost it. It is truly an amazing site to see that for the first time.

Busy, busy, busy!

Over the past few weekends I have traveled over 800 miles. Along with first trimester exhaustion, I’m exhausted! It seems like everyone is trying to get their last chance celebrations in before winter begins. Starting with my oldest sister, she gave birth to her third child. I wouldn’t have missed it, I arrived in plenty time to see the joyous occasion. Our sweet little Aiyana arrived on September 6th, weighing in at 7 pounds 5 ounces. She sure is a cutie, congrats Melissa.

Also, this past weekend we attended Ray’s uncles wedding. It was held at a ranch near Tucumcari, right at sunset, which was absolutely beautiful. Minus the rain, we had a great time. It was nice to see that part of the state which I hadn’t seen before. Monkey was very well behaved and adjusted great, considering.

It is so great to be home and I think it’s safe to say I am all traveled out for awhile. I have so much catching up to do around the house. I must start with laundry, after that an attempt to clean the back room to make room for our new addition. :D

A not so relaxing evening

Last night I fell while trying get out of the bath. Smack right onto the floor. I laid there for a moment in disbelief. How could I be so careless? My next thought was how am I going to get up without falling again? I was still wet and slippery so I yelled for daddy and he didn’t come. So I swung open the door and heard him snoring, great! Daddy is one of those people (like most men) who aren’t easily woken up. So I put my head down and just laid there and thought this is going to be a long night. Then I quickly decided to yell again. Whew, here he came! He goes “what’s wrong?” As I laid there helpless on the floor so I go, “I fell and can’t get up.” He politely helped me up in the midst of trying to wake himself up and handed me a towel. I just kept saying I can’t believe I did that. Then, I started to cramp. WTH? So I put a call into the OB and the nurse said, as long as I wasn’t bleeding everything should be ok but to come in, in the morning to make sure everything is ok. And it was, thank God. I can’t tell you how quickly my luck is running out with the pregnancy and if I keep going at this rate I’m SOL!

Today I am fine just really, really sore. Let's not to that again. Capish? Capish!

2 more days!

I know most women dread it but I on the other hand look forward to it. Yep, that’s right Football! I’ve always been one of those girls that like football. I can get right up in the conversations with some of the best of them. It’s just something about the excitement or lack thereof that gets me all riled up every year. I think this football season is going to be a great. The season opener is in 2 days and I cannot wait.

My fantasy football team is all picked and ready to go. Woo Hoo, bring on the football!
