Like father, like son!

There's no denying Rayce is just like his dad. He loves anything and everything that has to do with cars or trucks. For example this helmet; Ray got it in the mail yesterday for this upcoming racing season and what does Rayce do? He immediately has to wear it! In fact he wore it for half an hour until we were forced to put it away. He probably would have worn it to bed had we let him, silly kid.

Every time he spots a big truck or a race car, he gets hysterical! He has to let it be known that he sees it and must go over and touch it. I find it very fitting and appropriate considering, his name is Rayce!

Pregnancy Reflections

The Seventh Month

I've started thinking about the nursery:
I started thinking about it right away! As of right now, it's almost done.

I've been dreaming about you:
Often! I can't wait to see you...I think she will look like her daddy.

I used to love food! Now I avoid:
Used to? I still love food! Ha with all kidding aside I've been avoiding sweets of course and too much salt.

I never thought pregnancy would make me:
So hormonal! Seriously, it's outta control! Trying to contain these raging hormones has been tough.

I can't wait to:
Dress you up all in pink, in cute little dresses with you hair in pigtails!!

My prenatal visit this month taught me:
I'm anemic, hb was 161, lost 4 pounds, blood pressure was good.

My hopes:
To make it to my scheduled c-section date.

My fears:
That I won't make it to my date and get some random doctor.

A day at the park!

Caught at the bottom of the slide!

Getting ready to go down another slide.

Teeter-toter!

Swinging!

Today was such a nice day outside. You couldn't beat the weather so, after a morning trip to the new indoor flea market and a nap, of course we made our way to the park. Rayce had such a good time. He has become so independent while playing. He likes to climb everything on his own as well as, go down all the slides unassisted. He is such a joy to watch while playing. He runs around about so care free. He also made a few new friends while there overall, we had a great day as a family.

Blood work Results

My pre-e blood work results came back normal, Thank God! But, my hemoglobin and hematocrit didn't. Meaning I'm anemic, which is real common in pregnancy. I now have to take iron supplements along with 500 mg of vitamin C. I'm so glad I finally have a reason to explain my chronic fatigue. Apparently that is one of the main symptoms of anemia. I can go from 5-0 energy in 2 seconds and it was getting rather annoying. Hopefully the iron supplements will help.

That's all I have for now. I'm still sick and battling this horrid cough. Hopefully it will be done with soon.

It never fails...

Every February one but usually all of us get sick. It's usually around Super Bowl Sunday but this year we were spared a few weeks. First, Ray got it then, Rayce and now today, I came down with it. Yuck, I feel so crummy. I can't even lie down without hacking up my left lung (not seriously) but you catch my drift. The thing that sucks about being sick the most is I can't even take anything. :/ You know, with being pregnant and all. Say a prayer for me that this is short lived. I would greatly appreciate it.

7 month Appointment + Good and Bad news!

Wow, I am 7 months already! Can you believe it? That means I'm in my last trimester and I also go to the doctor every 2 weeks now. So exciting!
So, yesterday I went to my first doctor's appointment for this month and I was super excited to talk to her about my blood work results. In case you didn't hear, I passed my extensive glucose test and I wanted to know the specifics. But, before we could even get to that we were struck with high blood pressure accommodated with a bad headache. A headache that wouldn't go away with medication and was increasingly getting worse. My blood pressure came in at 146/82. It's the 146 part she was concerned about because last appointments reading was 122/76. That's a pretty fair increase. So, off to get more blood work I go. This time I have to get a diagnostic pre-eclampsia panel, something I have never got before, not even with Rayce. I'm nervous. If I have to go on bed rest I have no idea what I will do.

She also gave me a prescription for my headaches, called Fioricet. Come to find out it's a controlled substance and some pretty strong stuff. I decided to keep it on hand but only take it when absolutely necessary.

Then, we got back to those glucose results. It turns out my hemoglobin a1c went down to 5.8 it was 6.0 last time. My average glucose level per hour came back at 128! I was completely dumb founded and shocked. I thought for sure I would fail the test but I'm counting it as a blessing and moving on. I still have no desire to eat "whatever" I want and I am going to continue to "watch" what I eat. I mean, even though the results came back "normal" I think it's in our best interest to keep doing things the way I have thus far.

So there you have it, that's my update. Please pray my blood work results come back OK. I will keep everyone informed.
